Son Heung-min shares dressing room reaction to West Ham draw
Son Heung-min said that the players were devasted for the collapse at West Ham which saw Tottenham concede three goals in the space of 12 minutes.
Spurs were already three goals in front within 16 minutes, with the help of a goal from Son Heung-min and a brace from Harry Kane. However, West Ham completed a sensational comeback in the final stretches of the game.
Fabian Balbuena scored Hammer’s first goal and an own goal from Davinson Sanchez cut West Ham deficit to just one goal.
Four minutes into the stoppage time, Manuel Lanzini sent a long-range strike into the back of the net.
While the team was devastated for the points lost, Son feels that it will be a good lesson for the team. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:
“The lads are devastated for the result, of course,” he told Sky Sports. “I think we deserved three points and we played really well until the last 10 minutes. It’s a big shock and the lads are devastated.
“That’s football. It should never happen, but this is football. I don’t wanna feel this again, I think this is a good lesson for us.
“We dominated the game from the start and scored an early goal. We controlled the game, we had a couple of more chances to score, but when we score three goals at home, we can’t drop the points.
“The last goal, the strike was just unbelievable. Everyone is so sad to lose the two points.
“I would like to celebrate now and get three points, but it happens.”
